There are two types of ultrasonic liposuction. There is the internal procedure using the vibrating cannula and there is the external method with a vibrating machine used on the outer epidermis (skin), just before performing the actual liposuction.
The term ultrasonic refers to the use of high-pitch sound waves.
The idea behind this method is to break up the fat so that it can be removed out of the body quicker than other methods.
